Pre-Production
After our vacations and a few weeks working in the pre-production of the final game we are ready to start development in force
Second Prototype
Taking what we learned from the first prototype we made this new prototype level
Week 10 & 11 - Finishing Up
For the final 2 weeks I worked on just polishing the game and fixing game breaking bugs.
Week 9 - More Polish
This was the second week of polish. This time I worked on adding sounds, optimizing the game and performing several small changes.
Week 8 - First Polish
For this week of development I aimed to start polishing the game. No more features will be added unless we found we are missing something important or found an area that could be greatly benefited and its implementation does not take a lot of time.
Week 7 - Wrapping up the core
This week my objective was to have all levels ready and all of the minimum necessary art done.
Week 6 - First tutorials and blockout
My goal this week was to create one level that introduces an enemy type as well as making the block out the final level and this new tutorial. By the end of the week I had made two tutorial levels, each one introducing a different enemy. Also, I managed to blockout the final level and one of the tutorials.
Week 5 - Designing the Final Level
This week my objective was to have the paper design of the final level ready and I achieved that. Also, I manage to blockout most of the level in UE5 except some of the enemy positions.
Week 4 - Last Week of Gameplay Design
At the end of last week I decided that week 4 was going to be my last week working on mechanics. Whatever I managed to define was going to be everything I will use in the game. By Friday I managed to do just that.
Week 3 - Exploring the Mechanics and Systems
This week I focused on testing all that we have as much as possible with the aim of ending the gameplay design phase. I didn’t achieve that but got close enough.
Week 2 - Core Mechanics and Test Level
This week my aim was to have all the core mechanics working and also to have a level that showed these mechanics working in an engaging way. It doesn’t matter if things are a bit rough as long as I'm able to test if the mechanics work together and check if there is a missing feature
